Session 7: Funding Gap: Can We Afford Innovation? Back to the Agenda |
Wednesday, December 15, 2010
9:15 am - 10:10 am
Where is the money for high impact medical research coming from? What is it buying and what is it doing? How can you measure your return on investment? This panel will explore new financial models in medical research that are encouraging collaboration, co-investment and other unique funding approaches that accelerate innovation, such as using philanthropic dollars to help fund research others will not, and creating funding mechanisms that focus exclusively on pre-competitive tools. Is it enough to find ways to bridge the gaps in the current funding model, or is more radical change necessary? |
