Presentation - Sabin Vaccine Institute

Sabin Vaccine Institute: Advancing Antipoverty Vaccine R&D in Innovative Developing Countries Sabin Vaccine Institute's vaccine R&D and capacity building in Innovative Developing Countries (IDCs), such as Brazil and Mexico, is ground-breaking. The Sabin Vaccine Institute Product Development Partnership's (PDP) 11 years of R&D experience has produced a well-rounded, low-cost model for developing novel vaccines to fight such diseases as human hookworm, schistosomiasis, and Chagas disease. Sabin's PDP model works to bolster biotechnology capacity of IDCs while advancing solutions to prevent these poverty-promoting diseases. Recent progress in vaccine research and strengthening of local partnerships in IDCs have proven this model works and has potential to be expanded into other regions and diseases.
