About Partnering for Cures

Partnering for Cures is a first-of-its-kind meeting that brought together philanthropies, medical research foundations, and the biopharmaceutical industry in an effort to forge strategic collaborations key to the timely development of new medical treatments. Partnering for Cures was convened by FasterCures/The Center for Accelerating Medical Solutions, a nonprofit organization committed to saving lives by saving time in the research and development of new medical solutions.

For all the human and financial capital flowing through our medical research system, there remains a formidable list of diseases for which there are no cures or meaningful treatment options. The search for cures cannot happen in a vacuum. Major players in medical research need to find workable solutions that will lead to cures - faster.

The Partnering for Cures conference agenda was designed to be dynamic, results-oriented, and collaborative. Modeled from the proven industry partnering meeting, this conference:

  • enabled medical research foundations to present their innovative strategies to potential investors and partners;

  • informed philanthropic investment in medical research with objective and measurable data, novel approaches, and effective collaboration models; and

  • facilitated one-on-one meetings, utilizing the for-profit partnering platform, to help forge strategic, outcomes-driven efforts needed to overcome hurdles along the research continuum.

Partnering for Cures Objectives:

  • Forge strategic cross-sector relationships that will lead to collaborative efforts necessary for the commercialization of new therapies.

  • Engage philanthropists as involved partners in advancing medical research and therapeutic development.

  • Catalyze a targeted, efficient, and effective medical research enterprise through informed strategic investments.

“We share in your goal to turn exciting new medical discoveries into therapies that can treat and cure patients. But, as you know, no one can do this work alone. Expediting cures requires collaboration.”
