Time=Lives Talk - Pushing for Change is Personal
Putting patients first: How far have we come and what's needed next?
Partnering for Cures 2016 opened with a moving call to action from Eleanor Perfetto, whose late husband, Ralph Wenzel, suffered from early-onset dementia resulting from brain trauma he sustained as a professional football player. Perfetto is now senior vice president of strategic initiatives at the National Health Council, where she advocates for stronger patient engagement in the health care system, a passion she developed while challenging the National Football League to acknowledge her husband's condition.
Perfetto's opening talk set the stage for a discussion of patient engagement, "More than a Seat at the Table: Creating a Culture of Patient Engagement," moderated by Freda Lewis-Hall, executive vice president and chief medical officer at Pfizer.
