Despite significant basic knowledge about global diseases, drug research and development has been hindered by market forces and a lack of a profitable patient base. Out of necessity, innovators in the global health arena have created complex networks and cross-sector collaborations to advance the development of drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics for neglected diseases. Hear them discuss the formation of these entities and what lessons might be learned for similarly neglected diseases of the developed world.
