Dr. Frank Casty, MD, FACP. FCCP, serves a dual role as Vice President, External Medical Relations and Vice President, Technical Evaluation for U.S. Business Development of AstraZeneca PLC (AZ), headquartered in London, England.
As one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies with healthcare sales of $29.5 billion, AZ is a leader in the research, development, manufacturing and marketing of prescription pharmaceuticals and the supply of healthcare services. Dr. Casty joined AstraZeneca in 1999, holding dual roles as Executive Director, Clinical, Global Respiratory & Inflammation Therapeutic Area and as U.S. Therapeutic Area Medical Leader for Respiratory and Inflammation. In 2003, he joined AZ's U.S. Strategic Development organization as Executive Director, Emerging Products.
In 2005, Dr. Casty became the Vice President of the Strategic Drug Development organization. From 2007-early 2009, Dr. Casty held the position of Vice President and Global Lead for Global Medical Science where he was responsible for a staff of 160 physicians and scientists across Clinical Pharmacology/Pharmacokinetics, Discovery Science, Epidemiology, Health Economics and Outcomes Research.
Prior to joining AZ, Dr. Casty was Worldwide Head of Respiratory Medicine at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, Inc. He also held positions with Glaxo, Inc.and an academic appointment with Duke University Medical Center.
Dr, Casty holds an MD degree from Temple University School of Medicine and a BS degree in Biochemistry from the University of Scranton. He completed a Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Vermont and an internal medicine residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St.Luke's Medical Center, Chicago. He has also served as a Lt. Colonel in the New Jersey Air National Guard's Critical Care Air Transport Team. He resides in Collegeville, PA. |
