Kathy Giusti
Founder and CEO, Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium


Kathy Giusti founded the Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium (MMRC) in1998, shortly after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma. In 2004, she founded then Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium. Previous to this, Ms. Giusti, a senior pharmaceutical executive with more than 15 years in the industry, last served as Executive Director of as G.D. Searle & Co.’s worldwide arthritis franchise. She has received several awards for her efforts to accelerate research and drug development, including the Centennial Medal for Distinguished Public Service from the American Association for Cancer Research, the Partners in Progress Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association's Woman of the Year Award, and Harvard Business School Entrepreneurial Award. She serves on the National Cancer Advisory Board, an appointment she received from President Bush, and is a member of the Board of Directors for IMS Health. Ms. Giusti received her MBA in general management from Harvard Business School and graduated from the University of Vermont.
