Addario Lung Cancer Medical Institute: Remote clinical trials - The genomics of young lung cancer study
Tuesday, November 18, 2014
2:10 PM - 2:35 PM
Patient-centric advocacy and research organizations have created new models of directed research and advanced new and more effective diagnostics and therapeutics that improve patient outcomes through collaborative, results-focused partnerships. These new models of research go where the patients are and open up new channels of access for enrollment, making research and the benefits of participation more accessible. The presentation will provide clear guidance, best practices, and a specific case study on a patient-founded/-centric research organization that, via public-private partnership, innovative study designs, and remote participation technologies, is helping to advance next generation diagnostics and therapeutics leading to improved disease understanding, treatments, and patient outcomes. Our presentation will demonstrate how public-private partnerships can drive progress.
